Top 10 Movies For Grownups of 2010

A lot of Top 10 lists are released this time of year. One of the most interesting is the annual AARP list of Top 10 Movies For Grownups, which automatically disqualifies 90 percent of the films Hollywood releases each year.

"From drama and period-pieces, to family comedies and romance, 50+ actors and filmmakers have provided true entertainment this past year. We are proud to honor and recognize their achievements."

The Top 10 Movies for Grownups of 2010:

Get Low
The King's Speech

'Pink Panther' Director Blake Edwards Dead at 88

He was probably best-known as "Mr. Julie Andrews" and the director of 'The Pink Panther' films starring Peter Sellers, but Blake Edwards had a long and distinguished career in Hollywood.

Here are some of my favorite Blake Edwards' films:

Operation Petticoat (1959)
Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961)
Days of Wine and Roses (1962)
The Pink Panther (1963)
A Shot in the Dark (1964)
The Great Race (1965)
The Party (1968)
Darling Lili (1969)
The Return of the Pink Panther (1975)
The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976)
Revenge of the Pink Panther (1978)
10 (1979)
S.O.B. (1981)
Victor Victoria (1982)

Best Animated Film of 2010?

I'm going out on a limb here: "Toy Story 3" will sweep the 2010 "Annie" Awards, honoring the best in animation.

The 2010 nominations for Best Animated Features are: "Despicable Me" (Illumination Entertainment); "How to Train Your Dragon" (DreamWorks Animation); "Tangled" (Disney); "The Illusionist" (Django Films); and "Toy Story 3" (Disney/Pixar).

Winners will be announced at the 38th Annual Annie Awards ceremony on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at UCLA's Royce Hall, in Los Angeles.

No, that's not Sharon Stone on the cover of the latest issue of ESPN magazine. It's Lindsey Vonn, the American alpine ski racer who won a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics. It's not the first time the 26-year-old showed off her assets. She was also featured in a special swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated featuring Olympic stars. 'Red Riding Hood' Trailer

Critic: 5 most famous lesbian scenes in film

Associated Press movie critic Christy Lemire recaps five of the most famous lesbian scenes in movies in her latest column.

Lemire's picks:

"Mulholland Drive"
"Wild Things"
"Bound"
"D.E.B.S."
"Cruel Intentions"

Conspicuously absent is Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfried in "Chloe," released earlier this year. It's a pivotal scene in the movie and one of the most graphic sex scenes ever filmed.

Also, where's "The Hunger," the 1983 vampire film featuring a seduction scene between Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon?

Let the debate begin.
