OK,
so 'Fifty Shads of Grey' dominated the Valentine's Day weekend at the
box-office, but 'American Sniper' continues to do well at the domestic
box-office. With a $16.4 million haul over the Feb. 13-15 weekend,
'American Sniper' has now earned $304 million in the U.S.
The
Clint Eastwood-directed tribute to Chris Kyle has also earned $85.7
million overseas, making it one of the most successful movies ever. It's
already among the Top 50 highest-grossing films of all time and No. 3
of all films released in the past year. It also set the record for the
biggest January opening of all time.
And next weekend is the Oscars, with 'American Sniper' nominated for 6 Academy Awards.
